On July 8, 2022, Sheena and Chris tied the knot at the Cambridge Mill in Cambridge, Ontario. The Cambridge Mill is a beautiful location for a wedding or any event if you like the sound of running water. Located on the banks of the Brant River, this fully restored 19th century mill has everything a wedding couple would want.
The chapel where the ceremony was held has a wall of glass windows overlooking a terrific view of the river. It’s a stunning location for a ceremony.
We played soft instrumental background music while the guests arrived and found their seats.
When it was time for the bridal party to enter, the song of choice was Visiting Hours by Ed Sheeran followed by When You Say Nothing At All Song by Ronan Keating for Sheena’s walk to the alter with her father.
After the ceremony pictures were held in the chapel as Mother Nature wasn’t working with us. The rain wasn’t heavy at this time, but coming down hard enough that outside wasn’t an option.
The guests were asked to head to the Garden Terrace room on the other side of the property for cocktail hour where Jennifer played a variety of popular songs from the 50s to today. Drinks and appetizers were available during the cocktails and everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Once the pictures were completed, I packed up our ceremony gear and loaded it in the truck then joined Jennifer to help out with cocktail hour.

At 6pm cocktail hour was completed, and we headed down to the Gallery room downstairs. Although this room has no windows it is very nicely decorated and creatively gives the impression that there are windows.
We did that grand entrance and continued with a served dinner. Sheena and Chris were gracious enough to include us for dinner. The food at the Cambridge mill is simply the best!
Once we finished dinner we had speeches, followed by the standard wedding dances: couple, Father / Daughter, mother / son and finished with the anniversary dance. We played our standard classic, Unchained Melody for the anniversary dance and got a good crowd on the dance floor.
I followed up with Dion’s Run Around Sue to get the party started. I threw on a few more oldies including Sugar Pie Honey Bunch by the Four Tops and Buttercup the Foundations before kicking it into high gear with more current high energy music. I always like to play a few oldies at the beginning to show the older people in the room that we really do want everyone to have a terrific time.
At about 9pm Sheena threw her bouquet to Beyonce’s Put A Ring On It and Chris did the garter thing to Queens’ Another One Bites The Dust.
We continued to rock the evening with great music right up until midnight when we played the last song; Disturbed - The Sound Of Silence.
This wedding was a challenging logistical event as we need three setups. Two mini setups; Ceremony in the chapel, cocktail in the Garden Terrace room. And our main system in the Gallery Room downstairs. We pulled it off and Sheena even gave us a five-star review.
Despite the weather, it was a fantastic day filled with friends and family, good food, and a great time had by all.
